Far away from Quinta do Monte Xisto, where the Douro River flows into the sea separating the city of Vila Nova de Gaia from Porto, the so-called “terroir” continues. It is impossible to dissociate the Douro from Porto and Gaia, historically interconnected for socio-economic, climatic and logistical reasons.
Believing in the importance of this complex “terroir” and in its integration into an organic logic that they seek to follow, from the vineyard to the glass, the family established in a wine cellar in Gaia.
After the vinification made in V.N. from Foz Côa the wines are transported to Gaia where they are aged, bottled and shipped. The Mediterranean micro climate of the Douro contrasts with the Atlantic climate that has the ideal natural conditions of temperature and humidity for the aging of wines.
